Friends continuing to work on self-portraits.
The Cardinals were very eager to help make a new batch of play-dough today! Friends took turns measuring, pouring, stirring ingredients, getting water from the sink and deciding what color our play dough should be. We chose the color by voting between the colors green and blue! A teacher asked, "If you want our play dough to be blue go stand in the block area. The teacher then asked, "If you want the play dough to be green go stand on the red rug. We then count how many friends were on the red rug (4 ) followed by how many friends were in the block area ( 7). We as a class then worked to figure out which group had the most friends. We figured out that blue had the most and so our play dough is blue. The color green will be one of the colors to vote on for our next batch of new play dough!! Ask your Cardinal what they did to help make our play dough?

Friends listen and engage in read alouds!
Friends rotating through manipulating and enjoying our new play dough and finishing up their creative art work they started yesterday!
In Spanish class the Cardinals went over the Spanish names for some of the clothing we wear. Followed by playing a bingo game to help identify the clothing. Friends work individually or in 2s to complete this work. Today it was Logan's turn to squeeze la vaca!
Wednesday
The Cardinals had Meeting for Worship in the classroom with our second grade buddies. We did our silent activity with blocks. Our sweet Cardinals did an awesome job of explaining to their second grade buddies the rules of this activity.!! Friends in buddy pairs stood up, each choosing one block and brought it back to the black paper to add to our activity! At the end of our meeting for worship, friends took a close look at our creation. They then chose to share what they thought our creation looked like!
Ashanti started library class by telling the Cardinals a joke - What is very big, very blue and has a trunk? Many Cardinals right away said elephant!! The answer was An elephant holding its breath. Ashanti continued by reading us the books The Kitten who cried Dog by Charlotte. At the end of this book Ashanti asked friends "How would you change the ending of the story? The Cardinals had many ideas such as tell the truth, turn the dog to people, and connecting the story to another book about a boy who cried wolf. Ask your Cardinal what did you like about the book you chose?
Elliott led us into music class. Friends danced with scarves, shook eggs and played the drums to the song A Favor el Viento by Asere. We warmed up our voices with our Hooty voices. Followed by singing our hello song Jambo as Keisha played her guitar! The Cardinals then sang and did the movements to This Little Cow! Keisha then gave out scarves and taught friends the song and movement to Little Jonny Brown such as scarves on the floor, walk like a buzzer, jump, tipping feet, skipped, pat the floor and run in place. Friends also played peek A boo and made popcorn with the scarves!! The Cardinals finished up class by singing and doing the movements for Owl Moon! Ask your Cardinal to sing you some or all of the Owl Moon song?
