Weekend News
Evie - I go wedding and eat food and dance. I wear dress with mommy.
Renata - I went to gymnastic. I went to the mall and me and mommy eat food and ice cream. We buy stuff. I went home and play with my brother all day. I stay up and watch a movie.
Elliott - I go to swim. I watch a movie about this cat and it had big waves. The dogs were chasing the cats and the cats were running away. The reason the dogs was chasing them was cause the cats had fish.
Lila - I got unicorn popsicles. I play on my playground that's in my backyard. I went out to dinner on Friday.
Lake - I play ring around the rosey with my dad. I play with my cousins. I play outside with mommy.
Masai - I went to my playground that's close to my house. I also watch Lion King downstairs, it was the one that's a cartoon. I also play outside in my backyard and my dad was cutting the grass. My dad came out the back door and then he came in from the front door. He check on me cause I was in charge. I also play with my toys and my sister. My mom came home from work.
Logan - I went to my cousin's birthday party. His name is Timmy. He's a boy. I went home and my grandmom spend the night. I was jumping on the trampoline with my new best friends.
Colby - I play Dino bingo with mom. I buy myself a new toy. I go Quick ball. Poppy come my house.
Simone - I eat bagel. I had a party with Joan and Tony. They live next door then they went home. I had a nap and then dinner and then I went to bed.
Finley - I build a fort and then I lay in it. I play with my little brother.
Aya - I was playing with Isa. I was playing with my dolls with mommy. I also go to Outback with Isa and Daddy. My mom was at work and she didn't go cause she was still at work.
Nat - My play with mommy. My play hide and seek outside. My play with my toys. My bounce on chair.
Art Class
Johanna began class by asking The Cardinals "What do you know about birds?" Friends said they eat worm, fly around, go in trees, make noise, they're different kinds of birds, some birds make different sounds, they like bird baths, eat bird seeds. Johanna then read us the book Feather for lunch by Lois Ehlert. Johanna then taught friends how to draw a bird by starting with drawing a big v for the beak, then a circle on top of the V (it looked like an ice cream cone) as many Cardinals stated. Johanna continued by adding a body, legs, eyes and wings on the side. The Cardinals were very excited as they saw their birds appear on their paper! Friends then color and add feathers to their birds. Some friends named the birds! Ask you Cardinal what is your bird's name and how did you make it?
The Cardinals continue working on their habitats!
Tuesday
Spanish Class
After our greetings at the door, Alicia did our moment of silence, Calendar and hundred chart work. The Cardinals are doing an amazing job of counting in Spanish. Ask your Cardinal to count from cero uno to diez for you in Spanish. Some friends can count higher! Friends also did Camina Camina and then para. As Alicia called out the animals in English. Friends needed to say the animal's name in Spanish. Great work Cardinales !! Today was Logan's turn to squeeze la vaca!

Wednesday
After Meeting for Worship with our buddies and the rest of lower school. We came back to our classroom, ate our snack before heading off to Library class.
Library Class
Ashanti read us the book Serafina Makes Waves by Mattew Burgess. This book was about a little girl who was afraid to learn how to swim but after time she became comfortable being in the water and eventually loving and enjoying swimming! Soon it was time for friends to choose and check out a book!
Music class
The Cardinals had fun playing drums, dancing with scarves as they warmed up for class as they listened to Bonjour Pra Vole (Good morning to you) by Nazare Pereira. We warmed up our voices with Hooty the Owl and sang Jambo. Followed by doing the movements as we sing Here is a Beehive. Keisha made music notes for the animals each Cardinal is studying. The Cardinals were very excited about this. Keisha then asked friends to get in groups of three with one group of four. The Cardinals then decided how they wanted to play their music by figuring out which music note to play first. Each group then plays their music by clapping the notes and then naming the animals. We finished up class with Keisha playing the drum as friend did the movements to All Around the Kitchen! We also sang our goodbye song as Keisha played her guitar!
Today our whole AFS community took part in a practice Evacuation drill. We told our Cardinals beforehand what was going to happen and where we will be going. The Cardinals did a great job and walked over to the meetinghouse for the second time today.
Thursday
More Habitat work continue
Gym Class
Today we did kid's yoga in class. Josh told us to take our shoes off and sit on a purple mat. Friends practice breathing skills, tree pose, stretches, running dance, roll backwards and back up, honey fruit pose and bridge pose to name a few. This gym class entailed lots of breathing, stretching and poses. The Cardinal really enjoyed this kids yoga!! Friends also played pop up tag, which they loved!!
