Weekend News
Aya - It was my birthday. I was eating my cake and playing. I was playing with my chalk and coloring my book.
Nat - Play with toys. My play mom and John. My go outside. My play hide and seek inside.
Evie - I get lot chocolate and I eat some.
Renata - I got a doll for Easter and you could change the doll's hair. I could change my hair too. I also got a lot of toys. I play with my brother.
Elliott - I had Easter. I had two Easters cause Pearl's house and my house. I watch two movies but I only remember Ice Age. We definitely change baby's diaper.
Lila - When I woke up on Easter, there was a note and I got a Taylor Swift coloring book. I also got lot of candy and jelly beans. My Nana made salmom for dinner. I went on a Easter egg hunt and I found eggs on the sidewalk that the bunny left.
Lake - I play with my cousins. We went to the playground. We find some Easter eggs. We got toys from the eggs.
Masai - I went to my cousin's house and I go on Easter Egg hunt. I got lots of Easter eggs and chocolate and ring pop and a square of cotton candy but it wasn't in the egg. It was by itself. I was playing with my cousin Zuri.
Logan - I went to a hotel and I went to the restaurant with my cousin. We drop everyone home and then we was watching tv.
Colby - I play with my baby Cooper. Yesterday, I was so tired and I take nap.
Simone - I hunt for Easter eggs with my sister and I got stickers and bunnies and bracelets and starburst.
Art Class
Johanna began class by explaining what friends will be exploring. Today we choose pictures from the tables to create a story. One table had animals, another had garden stuff and the last one had toys. For example pictures of a train, a bat and a water can. A story could be made: The bat went on the train to water the garden. Each friend after choosing their pictures did their best at draw and create their individual stories. Friends used pencils, markers and paper to draw and to tell their story. Ask your Cardinal what story did you create?
Tuesday
Spanish Class
The Cardinals listened as Alicia read the book Max and the Talent Show. The book was about bullying, being true to yourself and standing up for yourself and others. The Cardinal had so MUCH to say about this book that Alicia had to stop several times to engage in conversations. We ran out of time and could not do the other things Alicia had planned for us! Today it was Simone's turn to squeeze la vaca! Ask your Cardinal to tell you what happened in this book?

Wednesday
The Cardinals joined their second grade buddies and the rest of lower school and attended Meeting for Worship in the Meetinghouse today! It was wonderful watching friends walking and chatting with their buddies on the way over and back!! We settled into silence and soon after Andrea read us the book Daniel Finds a Poem. We settle back into silences, follow by Keisha breaking our silence and us singing Peace Like A River!
Library Class
Ashanti was very animated and had the Cardinals in stitches as she read us the books Potato Pants by Laurie Keller and The Secret Birthday Messages by Eric Carle. The Cardinals had many giggles and comments as they listened to these stories! Soon it was time to pick and check out a book to bring back to our classroom!
Music class
Aya led us into music class! We warmed up to the song, Better When I'm Dancing by Meghan Trainor. We then sang and did the moments for Peace Like A River as Keisha played her guitar!

The Cardinals continue to work on their Te, Ta and Rest with music sticks and drums. We also sang and did the movements to Mother Sarah. The Cardinals were great! Keisha did the fantastic hand cheer at the end of class. Ask your Cardinal to show you the Fantastic hand cheer?
Thursday
Gym Class
The Cardinals worked on teamwork and focusing skills as they listened to Josh and Tiffany's directions. Today friends worked with the big parachute. They stood in a circle while holding the parachute and made small and big waves as Josh quickly said which kind of wave to make! Friends continue standing while holding the parachute, two Cardinals at a time switched spots by moving as fast as they could under the parachute! Followed by friends moving the parachute up and down as Josh and Tiffany throw balls on to the parachute to pop popcorn! The goal was to see how high the balls could go. Next friends sat around the parachute and one at a time. They ran around the circle as fast as they could. Followed by playing a game of duck duck goose. Our Cardinals really loved and enjoyed these games. Ask your Cardinal what did you do in gym class today?
The Cardinals took an observational walk to look for Signs of Spring around campus today. Here is what friends notices:
Nat - My see pink flowers and my see purple flower too
Masai - I found three yellow flowers next to the pine cones. See, look over there. I see cherry blossom. How do you know that, cause I think my dad or mom told me and I just remember.
Lake - I notice some leaves on trees and some are yellow but that tree has no leaves. I don't know why it has no leaves.
Colby - I see yellow flowers. What these call? Tulips. Look, everybody I see tulips.
Logan - Look, I see purple flowers growing on the ground. I see the wind blowing the white leaves away.
Simone - I notice buds up there. I see red flowers on that tree.
Evie - No leaves on that tree yet, it have no leaves. I notice some flowers on the grass.
Renata - I see white flowers and another white flower and berries too. I think this hole is a bunny hole.
Finley - I notice the trees is getting leaves. They're small but I think there will get bigger and bigger.
Grant - I see some little plants on the ground
Aya - I notice that yellow brush.
Lila - I notice yellow flowers and also green leaves. I also notice that cherry blossom. When asked how she know that, Lila said cause my neighbor has one and I see it every day.
Elliott - Look, purple flowers and one thousand white flowers on these trees.
Friday
Today we did literacy with Erica and classroom teachers. Friends worked in groups of 4 on letter recognition, letter sound and the AT family to complete their work. We also took a walk and had fun outside on the playground!
